Transcript of the Draft Will of William Rowlands
In the Name of God Amen I William Rowlands in the Parish of Naunton in the County of Glocester Taylor and Shop keeper being of sound Mind and Memory and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to Die do make and ordain this My last Will and Testament in Manner and form that is to say
I give to my son William Rowland of Lower Slaughter in this County the House he now lives in with the Garden and all belonging thereto during his Life and if he has any Child living at his decease I give the said House and Garden to the Eldest Child his or her heirs for ever on paying to my Wife two Pounds Five Shillings per year during her Natural Life if he has no Child living at his decease I give the aforesaid House and Garden to my son John Rowland of Oxlease Farm in this County and to his heirs for ever.
I give to my Daughter Mary Collett of Notgrove in this County all that House Garden and Out House situate at Naunton now Rented by Mrs Perry to her and her heirs fore ever on paying to My Wife One Pound ten shillings per year during her Natural life likewise I give to the aforesaid Mary Collett all those three Houses at Notgrove I hold by Agreement by Mr Perk during the remainder of the term unexpired.
I give to my son John Rowlands now living at Oxlease Farm all that House and Houses and Garden thereto belonging situate in the Parish of Naunton in the County of Glocester now Rented by his Brother Robert Rowlands to him and his heirs for ever on paying to my Wife one pound twelve shillings per Year during her life likewise I give to my son John Rowlands 68 Perch of Land in the Pigeon House Close Bought of Mr Hill Dawe Esqr to him and his heirs for ever.
I give to my Son Robert Rowlands this House I now live in with the Garden Out House Shops and all Appurtances thereto Belonging to Him and his Heirs for ever on paying My Wife two Pounds Ten Shillings per year during her Life. I give likewise to my son Robert Rowlands all that House adjoining newly built now Rented by Wm Barnet on Condition of his paying My Wife One Pound per Year during her Natural Life and at the Death of my Wife paying my Daughter Elisabeth Reynolds One Guinea per Year during her Natural Life.
I give to my Daughter Elisabeth Reynolds all that House now Rented by Henry Hamlett and Out House lying or being at the Bottom of Colts Lane but to have no Claims Backwards to her and her Heirs for ever on paying my Wife One Pound Ten Shillings per Year during her Life. I likewise give to my Daughter Elisabeth Reynolds my Large Round Table and best Tea Table and all her Mothers Goods herein given to my Wife after Her decease.
I give to my son Joseph Rowlands all that House and Garden Out House brew House and all belonging thereto that He now lives in and Occupys in the Parish of Naunton in the County of Glocester on paying my Wife two Pounds a Year during her Natural Life. I give likewise to my son Joseph Rowlands all that House adjoining Now Rented by Solomon Stiles and Garden thereto belonging on paying my Wife One Pound One Shilling per Year during Her Life and on paying One Year after the Death of my Wife Ten Pounds to my son John Rowlands of Oxleasy Farm or his Heirs. I likewise give to my son Joseph Rowlands for Ever 48 Perch of Land below and adjoining his Garden in the Pigeon House Close Bought of Mr Hill Dawe Esqr. I give likewise to my son Joseph Rowlands all my wearing apparel also one Curtain Bed and all belonging thereto.
I give to my Wife Mary Rowlands if she may think fit to live Elsewhere one Bed and Hangings and all thereto belonging a Box Tea Kettle and such things she Can't do without or as the Trustees may determine.
I give to my son Robert Rowlands my Clock and Case and Furnace and every thing I Die Posessed of that is not Demised of as Above. I do hereby make and Appoint my son Robert Rowlands my whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament Upon Condition He shall provide a Room for my Wife if Required my Wife paying for the same the Executor Robert Rowlands to pay all expences and Receive all Demands.
I make and Appoint Mr Edward Wood of the Folly Farm in the Parish of Notgrove and Mr Jno Wood of Naunton Mill my Trustees to assist and see that this my Last Will and Testament is Faithfully fulfilled and Executed Revoking and Disanulling all former Wills or deeds by Me before made and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.
